Codename: Grimacing Reflection
At what point does growth become hypocrisy?
Is it when you’ve grown into clarity?
Or is it when you realize you lied to yourself about who you want to be?
By all means necessary,
I’ll make it. Promises aren’t the only thing broken
When the code of conduct’s changed.
Money and power are the goals of this game
Then it’s playtime done and I’ll wipe my hands clean.
They see me down now and they’ll never see my dream,
Because I have a new code now: success by any means necessary.
Step 1 is to identify,
Next is to survey, final move is to execute
Fool me once, and I’ll put that 3 step plan to use
Hindsight the weapon in which my hopes lie,
All I can wish for that one day my mistakes are few,
Since if you fool me twice I’ll rain hell on you.
I’m still here,
Former prideful assertion aside
End is near,
Of that cycle that terrorized me inside
Come child, look at this hamster wheel,
To all of them you’re and exhibit,
Running on and on while the harsh faults of the human condition is all you feel.
When I woke up,
I saw a world full of evil
And I filled up.
Because the immoral are those who compete,
I can’t have a compass find me last in this track meet.
Apologies for my morality,
But I’m catching up.
It’s sink of swim now,
Suicide is comfortability.
